The Hampton Roads JATC accepts applications year round.  

YOU CANNOT REGISTER TO BE A MEMBER OF THIS WEBSITE UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED AS AN APPRENTICE IN OUR PROGRAM, OR UNLESS YOU WORK OUT OF OUR UNION HALL  JOURNEYMAN, CE, OR CW!! YOUR REQUEST WILL BE REJECTED.

 As an applicant, it is your responsibility to read and understand the contents of this notice.

The Hampton Roads JATC will not be responsible if you fail to read and to understand the procedures contained herein.  If, after reading, there are any questions you may have, please call our office, Monday-Friday between 8:30am to 4pm at 757-875-1744 or email apprenticeship@ibew1340.com with the subject being “application”  to get any items clarified.

*Make sure when entering data, you use capitalizations where needed.  Examples of what should be capitalized are as follows:  John(first name)  Doe(last name), Hampton (city), Virginia(state), Colony Drive(street name), etc.

Once our office receives your completed online application, and verifies all documents, we will notify you of the next aptitude test scheduled. All documents must be uploaded on the online application  portal.

The primary supporting documents needed to verify the minimum requirements are, but not limited to:

1. A VALID driver’s license (does not apply if applying to the Construction Wireman Program)
2. A copy of your birth certificate
3.  A copy of your social security card
4. Provide ALL transcripts (not diplomas) for all high school, college, technical schools, or any other education and training.  Those using a GED to qualify, in addition to transcripts, you must provide GED test scores, not just a diploma.
5. Driving record (no older than 30 days old)
6. Form DD-214 (military veterans only)
7. Employment History / Resume
8. $25.00 processing fee (non-refundable) payable by cashier's check or money order payable to “Hampton Roads JATC”.  Checks Not Accepted
